Nostril piercings can be placed in a variety of regions on the nostril. Paired nostrils (a piercing on each nostril) and high-paired nostrils are gaining popularity. However, one of our favorites is to have two along the same side for multiple jewelry options.

Initial Jewelry - $30+

When getting your nostril pierced we highly recommend starting out with a stud. Rings drag bacteria into the piercing more frequently and must be quite a few sizes larger to have the space that is required for swelling with a fresh piercing. While nostrils are generally pierced at an 18g, larger options are available upon request.

Connected Chakra: Nostril piercings fall under the Throat Chakra. An indescribable draw to the nostril piercings can be revealing of energy needing to be disbursed to find a means to express the true intentions of ones self. Alternatives: If work or school restrictions do not allow for exposed facial piercings, an alternative to look into would be the septum piercing.

Navel - $30/Piercing Fee

The navel piercing can be a more difficult piercing to heal, with an expected healing time ranging from 3-6 months depending on care and activity levels. Upper Navel is the most traditional navel piercing, and most commonly seen, however, the Lower Navel allows a twist on the body-piercing classic.

Initial Jewelry - $45+: Navel Curves and J-Curves at a 14g are the most common jewelry seen in a navel, and are great for initial jewelry. They can be adorned with simple beads, or a variety of stones and gems.

Chakra Healing: Navel piercings are centered with the Solar Plexus, and are hugely significant for those looking to find a sense of self. For those questioning their perceptions of control, power and freedom, the navel piercing allows the Solar Plexus to open and the discovery of ego to begin.

Alternatives: If the anatomy on a navel is not an ideal fit for a traditional piercing we would then recommend surface anchors placed slightly above, below, or to either side of the navel will mimic the navel piercing and expand options for creating a project piece centered around the navel.

Septum - $35/Piercing Fee

The Septum piercing is done in the center of the septum, the soft tissue just inside where the two nostrils meet. Healing time for a septum is 3-6 weeks.

Initial Jewelry - $15+: Circular barbells, captive bead rings (CBRs) and retainers are all viable initial jewelry options typically starting at a 16g or a 14g. Retainers are preferable among those who need to hide the jewelry for work or schooling purposes, as they can be flipped up during the healing process.

Chakra Healing: Placement in conjunction with the throat chakra and third eye, or brow chakra, septum piercings primarily work on balancing the energies. Pulling together the desire to express, and the unconscious minds truths of motive. Again, deciphering between what should remain as an inner dialogue and what should be shared with those around you

Alternatives: While instinctively, most assume that nostril piercings would be the next alternative to septum’s, Philtrum piercings more closely mimic the aesthetics of a septum piercing in terms of placement.

Cheek Piercings - $35 each/piercing fee

Done by piercing through facial tissue into the oral cavity cheek piercings, although trendy do offer some level of risk. Nerve damage results in the “artificial dimples” left behind after the piercing heals. Additionally, as with most oral piercings, the risk for damage to the gums and teeth, from unintentional biting of the barbell as well as rubbing, is very high. Healing time for cheek piercings is 6 months to a year.

Initial Jewelry - $45+

The procedure is typically done with a standard barbell to prevent a flat labret from healing into the flesh. After the healing, downsizing is mandatory to preserve oral health as best possible. Standard sizing for initial for cheek piercings is 16g, and length sized according to anatomy.

Chakra Healing: Cheek piercings focus around the throat chakra. The exploration of ones self in relation to the space around them begins. Bringing the outside within. A piercing in this area assists with the knowing of holding your tongue when need be, but to also speak your mind and to speak it with truth.

Alternative: Scars are nearly impossible to get away from with these piercings. So, if you want a similar look, side lip and lower labrets are a piercings that make for good other options.

Lobes - $30 each /Piercing Fee

Daith - $35 /Piercing Fee

Pronounced “Doth” (Looks like “faith”, sounds like “goth”)

Daith piercings are a straight forward piercing that usually can be done on all individuals. Generally placement difference only varies with depth and can be different on everyone, especially with pairing.

Initial Jewelry - $15+

When getting your Daith pierced we highly recommend starting out with a ring. The ring does drag bacteria into the piercing more frequently, so we warn our piercees that this can cause a little longer of a healing time. The ring must also be a size suitable to accomodate for swelling, anything smaller must be put in after healing is complete. The popular curved barbell look is something we also wait, for with a ring we can guarantee the channel healing the outward rounded direction.

I’d also recommend and Anti-Tragus, however anatomy must suit the piercing and prepare for a much rougher heal.
